Excerpt from Danny's Grace by Dawn Hawkins

Danny's Grace
Father's Day is coming up soon, but not everyone chooses to celebrate that day. Kids like Danny, and maybe even Carson, wouldn't. Here's to hoping that every other child on earth celebrates their fabulous fathers instead of wishing they had different parents.

“Now, Danny, we both know that’s not going to happen. Just enjoy it. You know how to enjoy it; right? I mean… you certainly aren’t a virgin. You know how the world works. I tried to explain that to Carson. He didn’t listen to me though. He was such a whiner. I would have left him alone if he had just listened to me.”

“What are you talking about? If he would have listened about what?”

“I told him all he had to do was invite you to spend the night. That’s all he had to do and I wouldn’t have had to listen to him cry every night.”

What the fuck is he talking about. Carson said his parents didn’t want me… No, no, no… This can’t be happening. Someone help me. I’m trying to scream. Can anybody hear me?

“What did you do to him? What did you do, you sick bastard?”
